One thing you won’t find in short supply in Cuernavaca and catering for budgets of all sizes are places to eat . Whether its a sit down meal in a first class restaurant, something from a fast food restaurant or a snack from a street stall, there are plenty to choose from.
Of course in a developing country like Mexico you have to be careful, Montezuma’s revenge, otherwise known as Traveller’s Diarrhea, is likely to affect 40% of visitors to the country.
However, today I threw caution to the wind and decided to brave the local street vendor and ordered two chicken filled tapas covered in lettuce, cheese and a guacamole type dip and ate it whilst sitting on the side of the street with the locals whilst they were eating their lunch. I have to say that not only was it very filling and a full meal in its own right but it was also very inexpensive at only 10 Pesos or the equivalent of 60p .
As for Montezuma’s revenge, well it hasn’t struck yet and fingers crossed (or should it be legs) I would prefer to avoid it. Will I go back for another tapas… I certainly will!
